Holidays in Shimla and Manali

If any one is thinking to have a break and wants a holiday in the hill stations near Delhi, one such options are Shimla and Manali. These two beautiful places of Himachal Pradesh become the host for many tourists every year. And these two are the favourite honeymoon destinations also.
Shimla the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is famous for its beautiful landscape, architectural building, wooden craft, pines and apples. This place has got a great historical significance. Once it was the summer capital of India. Shimla is surrounded by deep forest like pine, deodar and oak. It is a very happening place with numerous attractions and modern facilities and thus it is one of India's most popular hill stations. Honeymoon couples find the place very romantic as there are variety of activities can be done.

Interesting places in Shimla

Christ Church – It is one of the oldest church in the North India located on the famous Ridge of Shimla.
It should mention here that ridge is a large open space in the center of the city. The ridge gives an excellent view of the mountain range of that area. It is an excellent place to spent time in nostalgia or with loud friends.

Indian Institute of Advance Studies – It was the house of the former Viceroy, now a portion of it has been made an institute of Advance studies. The architecture of the building is excellent and it has got a magnificient lawn. The back ground, landscape and architecture of the place gives the impression of an European city.
Other tourists spots in Shimla are Jaku temple, Kali Mata temple, Shimla State Museum, Summer hill and Sankat Mochan temple. Mashobra, Naldehra and Kurfi are excellent spots for outing in Shimla. During winter these area get covered with snow and become the venue for several activities like ski, snow scating and go carting.

The most entertaining experience in Shimla is the Shimla Kalka toy train ride. This journey amidst the forests and tunnels of Himachal Pradesh is really very exciting and fascinating.
Never the less, for the shopping freak the Mall is an ideal place. There are many restaurants, clubs, coffee bar and lots of branded and local shops.

Similarly another favourite hill stations in North India is Manali. The land scape of the area is breath taking, with river Vyas meanders with its clear water and fruit orchard give the city an enchanted look. Manali is also known as the switzerland of India.

Interesting places in Manali
Hidimba Temple – One of the many attractions of Manali is the Hidimba temple. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Hidimba, wife of Bhima in Mahabharata. The temple is located in the deep forest of Deodar.
Other attrctions of Manali are Manu Temple, Club House, Vashist Hot water Spring and Solang Valley etc. The most interesting place in Manali is Rohtang Pass. It is a gate way to Lahole Spiti. This place offers a spectacular mountain view. And an excellent place for the snow lovers. Rohtang Pass is 51 km away from Manali. Journey from Manali to Rohtang Pass is totally different among the narrow beautiful road.
Though Shimla and Manali both are hill stations of Himachal Pradesh but the scenic view is different. The two places give two different feelings. But the common thing in both the places is that Mall roads are shoppers paradise.
